Minecraft (Take 1!)

Written by Dan Kingsley
Minecraft is a game much like a Virtual lego set. Everything is made of blocks and you can create anything. As long as you can dream you can build. The game has 2 main objectives: To survive and to find a portal to ‘The End’ Realm and beating the Enderdragon.

Grand Theft Auto 3

Written by Hassan Irshad
This is the first handheld playable version of the GTA series. It is a universal app, meaning that is available on the iPod touch, iPhone and iPad. First question anyone would ask, what do you do in it?

Super Pokemon Rumble

Written by Dan Kingsley
Nintendo and Pokemon go hand in hand. The same is true for Pokemon and their many Spin-Off games. These amount to over 30 games and one of the most up and coming series in this area are the Rumble series. These follow a different scheme all together. Instead of having actual creatures, you catch and train wind up Pokemon toys that battle each other, much like actual Pokemon would. You must fight your way to the fierce boss battle at the end of every level and try to win. Once you have strong enough toys you can challenge the battle royale.

Rise of Heroes

Written by Peter Ronshaugen
About a week ago I was trolling around looking for some sort of strategy game. During this I found two tittles; Army of Darkness, and Rise of Heroes. As I started to play, RoH started to look promising. After the strange story intro, you get plunged straight into the game. You and a band of merry men there to help you (and you will need help as you can’t personally damage the enemy castle) are on one side of a valley with a castle that you must protect whilst also pushing the enemy back to their castle on the other side of the valley.

Legend Of Zelda : Ocarina Of Time 3D (3DS)

Written by Dan Kingsley
Whenever you say to someone’ What is the greatest game of all time?’, what will they say? Call of Duty? No. Super Mario Bros.? Nope. GTA? Once again no. Truth is that most people who know their games well will say the same. Legend Of Zelda Ocarina Of Time. Every single rating gives it perfect to near perfect rating. It even got something that only 4 games in the history of the world have ever achieved.

Street Wrestler

Written by Daniel Keighobadi
Another game brought to us by our friends at Chillingo, and I have to say I am impressed. Normally I don’t really like arcade layouts on games but the retro style simply blew me away! The grunge effect was also a nice touch. The 3D graphics are really quite interesting to give a kind of “Nintendo 3DS” kind of feel but the graphics of the actual wrestling should see improvement.

Pocket God

Written by Joe Buckley
What do you think there is in your iPod/iPhone? Hard drives computer chips with pocket god? You can think again - Pocket God is a whole new world in your hand containing pygmies, dinosaurs, and the odd ice monster. This is one must have app if volcanoes are your thing, maybe if you have a taste for lightning or maybe you just find flinging roasting, poor, helpless people darn right funny. This app contains 42 episodes and counting. Episodes (missions, really) for people who don’t know - they’re a number of quests for you to complete in order to earn idols, which are pretty much the aim of the game (you can upgrade them). With these idols, you then go on your map, tap on the temple and if you have four you can play against the gods. The other things you can do are for you to discover asI don’t want to spoil the experience and if you are ever stuck you can tap on the help button. All considered this is one game no iPod/iPhone can live without

Super Smash Brawl (Wii)

Written by Joe Buckley
Super smash brawl is not only an amazing game but most of all is a celebration of all things Nintendo. In this game you will get cross overs unlike any other game. Whether it’s Yoshi fighting Mario and link or if it’s 4 Yoshi’s brawling to the bitter end there are endless possibilities. In the series, this game boasts the most levels, characters and items. Not only is there the chance to play as your favourite characters from Nintendo, sonic and snake have joined the brawl. When you’re not rubbing in your victories solo players might like to compete in classic mode where you face 12 enemies and build up your trophy stash. Not only can you compete in classic mode but you can also do the story mode (subspace emissary) that unites all of the Nintendo kingdom to face off against characters from pretty much anything Nintendo. This game has also an online mode and if you’re feeling creative there is also there an extra that allows you to make your own stages. One of my favourite items are the poke’balls and item trophies which give you a random character to help you. Not only do I think it…

Prince of Persia

Written by Dan Kingsley
Originally released for GameBoy Colour in 1999, Prince of Persia is now downloadable on the Nintendo 3DS E-Store for £5.40 in the virtual console range. It is a fun but annoying game to play, with good graphics for its time and a gameplay to match. STORY:The story is following the main plot of the original movie, where a sorcerer has put a curse on the beautiful Jaffar, daughter of the sultan who was the ruler, and you have exactly 60 minutes to Marry her or she will perish! Unknown to her however you are currently in her dungeons. SOUNDS:Its like most games of its era has a nowadays - retro feeling with 64bit sounds. It shares this with most of the other games in the GameBoyColour Virtual Console Range. GRAPHICS:Not much to be said for the graphics front. It has a retro charm with 128bit visuals also common to the range. GAMEPLAY:This let me down a little. It has controls that if impatient will make you want the money back. However complicated this is solved by going through the training. I WOULD RECOMMEND DOING THE TUTORIAL FIRST. Once you have grasped controls of the game, quit the tutorial and select new game.…
