Cube Runner – a lemon or a peach? A simple game where the sole objective of the game is to avoid block in front of you by tilting the device in a left or right motion, and to try and beat you previous high score – So is it worth your time or not?

If you’re looking for a budget title for you apple devices then you need look no further than cube runner a free game on apples app store.

The game has 3 modes. They are easy normal and hard but all this does is make the speed that you are flying through the levels at higher. This does not actually add anything to the game. This is because after you reach a certain point in the game the speed actually changers to the higher speed any way without the need to change the speed in the options menu. But by actually reaching the point of the higher speeds you will have accumulated a high score, and as the whole point of the game is to amount a bigger score than the last time you played the game this seems to be a pointless feature to me.

The graphics of the game aren’t exactly high art but considering this is a free title you can’t be expecting high quality graphics. Saying that the cubes are all simple primary colours and there is no variation in the shape and size of cubes which is disappointing, and this quickly makes the game seem nothing more than an unending sea of cubes in front of you.

The music is simple and dull techno and unfortunately the in game music is no way as good as the music on the main menu. The in game music is extremely annoying as it is just one sound changing pitch on a loop which comes to be very boring and annoying.

When it comes down to it you will either like the game and gloss over all its short comings or find the game becomes very boring very quickly. This is down to the fact that there is no variation in what you are doing from one play through to the next.
