Slice It! is a game from Com2uS which instantly gained the top spots on the App Store around the world - that says everything about this app, but I will expand! As a serious contender to Angry Birds, Slice It! is a highly addictive game that requires skill and accuracy. The first few levels of the game walk you through how to get started with the basic concepts required to complete the levels. They then set you off with no help, apart from "hints" which you can purchase with "hint points", earned when you complete a level with 100% accuracy.

There are currently 4 playable chapters in the game, each with 20 levels, with the exception of the last one which only has 10 (more to come in an update. The aim of the game is really to slice shapes up into a stated amount of equal pieces, with a specific amount of 'pencils'. The shapes start off very basic, for example a square being split in two equal pieces. Once you've used up all your pencils, you're presented with a success or fail screen - with the fail screen, you are given the option to undo the last move, which is especially useful on the later levels where many pencil lines are required! On the success screen, you are given a start rating up to five of how accurate you were, and in exceptional circumstances, you are given the "Perfect" badge if you get all slices exactly equal!

There are two ways to control the slices. You can either start from outside the shape, and drag across to select the slice, or you can use the multitouch features of iOS devices, and put two fingers on the screen - one either side of the shape - to cut the slice. These simple controls allow anybody to play the game, regardless of what level you're on!

We found some levels, in particular level 43, difficult to get 5 stars on, as you have to be 100% accurate, which is near impossible, as with levels 41+ you need to use mirrors to make slices. Also, in prior levels, they introduce red areas, where a slice cannot be cut across, and other ways need to be found to complete the level!

All in all, this is a great, and highly addictive, game. For a link to the app, and the main pro's and con's, check out below!
