Angry Birds HD is the iPad equivalent of the long standing no. 1 app on the iPhone's App Store. The success that Angry Birds for iPhone has gained has made Angry Birds HD an instant iPad success, travelling straight to number 2 of the top Paid apps - with good reason. I'll start off with a bit of information about the game, and why the birds are so angry! The green pigs have stolen the birds prized possessions - their eggs. You control the birds in their mission to destroy the pig's forts and get the eggs back!

I've been playing the iPhone version of the game for a few months now, so when I heard about the iPad version, I just had to get it! Basically, there's a catapult from which you fire different kinds of birds at the pigs. There's plenty of things along the way that help you with your quest, such as explosives, and heavy rocks & bolders that squish the pigs! In the current version there are 4 episodes with 45 - 63 levels in each. In between episodes are cut scenes to help you follow along with the story.

I like the way that they have integrated Crystal, which is a gaming community that is exclusive to games that have been published by Chillingo. They have also included links to their social channels (Twitter & Facebook&trad;), but clicking those take you out of the app into Safari - they could have shown the Twitter & Facebook feeds inside the app to better the playing experience, but this can easily be fixed in a update.

Angry Birds HD is a game you'll really want to get if you own an iPad. It's the number 1 game for the iPad currently, it's almost socially unacceptable to not have it!
